Our cat slipped out last night. Who handles lost and found animals for Encinitas?

San Diego Humane Society handles animal services

The City contracts with San Diego Humane Society for animal services, including lost and found, licensing and humane law enforcement [1]. The City lists the lost-and-found phone number as (619) 299-7012 [1]. The Humane Society also has a lost and found page online [3].

Campuses

  • Oceanside: 2905 San Luis Rey Road (dogs) and 572 Airport Road (cats and small animals)
  • Escondido: 3450 E. Valley Parkway
  • San Diego: 5500 Gaines St.

Addresses are from the City's Animal Services page [1].

Stray or injured animal

You can report stray, aggressive or injured animals through MyEncinitas under "Animal Control" [2].

Licensing helps pets get home

Pet licenses are sold and renewed online through DocuPet. Each tag includes a 24/7 lost-pet service [1].
